Fanny Brice: If I can’t tell when you’re ordering roast beef and potatoes, how will I know when you’re making advances?

Star Wars is a favorite. I once choreographed a Star Wars-themed half time show with a little R2D2 running about by remote control.
Fanny Brice: If I can’t tell when you’re ordering roast beef and potatoes, how will I know when you’re making advances?
Nick Arnstein: You’ll know. I’ll be much more direct. Funny Girl.
Hurry up goldenrod or you’re going to be a permanent fixture. Hans Solo, Star Wars
Maria: When the Lord closes a door, somewhere He opens a window. Sound of Music
The Baroness: Somewhere out there is a lady who I think will never be a nun. Auf Wiedersehen, darling.Sound of Music
I did not think of “Fanny Brice,” Brenda. Now I’m kicking myself.
My favorite movies are: Sound of Music, Gone With The Wind, Casablanca, Funny Girl and Dr. Zhivago, so I thought of those. Surprisingly there are few memorable quotes from Dr. Zhivago by the hero and heroine. And I left out GWTW entirely, though you had “Frankly, my dear . . .” 🙂
I am quite fond of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Von Ryan’s Express, The Godfather, It Had to Be You, Gone with the Wind, and It Happened One Night. For those I stay up late at night to watch.
Lots of my favourites there, Regina. Here are some others.
